It's the new year and damn am I friggin lazy to start studying...everything's going great with the exception of a few road bumps. 

Poor excuse.

Currently at school wishing for 6 o' clock to come by sooner so I can go home..it's Thanksgiving tomorrow and I forgot about it because our schedule doesnt give us a break. Yeah, exhausting the brain cells to the max! Got done with three exams this week leaving me with six more? seven? Whatever its gonna be bitchin hell during first two weeks of december.  

I took my mom to the airport on the fifteenth. It makes me kinda sad that she's permanently living over in Vietnam and I won't be able to visit her when I'm craving some home cooked meals.  At least I saved myself a drive back home since there's nothing remotely interesting where I'm from besides the friends I know and my mom.  

At least around this time next year she'll be flying back here for my graduation if I ever make it haha. School is brutal and to have four classes during summer will probably be the tipping point. 

I'm so excited to not have anything to do tomorrow but instead act gluttonous and laze around with friends and family. I'm definitely going to the liquor store to buy some alcohol since I'm you know, practicing for when the semester ends in three weeks haha.

My sister and boyfriend were taking a trip to nola and I had to drop her off at the greyhound. Their choice of transportation even though they could've driven but whatever. Anyway I asked her about my father and if he was Vietnamese and why did we move from Florida to California then Texas. She started off with mom defected from Vietnam to the Philippines because it was hard to make a living back home and then we got sponsored by some white man with money to throw around.  So we came to the states and the father would hear whispers of making money if we went here and so he followed the rumors.  He came from a poor family and left his wife for my mom. I told my sister I remember the day he left us and that he was mean and abusive.  She said that pretty much summed him up.  Unfortunately it seems my brother has picked up certain aspects of our father's personality.  

So far everything I thought and remembered about this man was true and I'm glad to say he's out of our lives.  It just saddens me a bit that the closest fatherly figure I had in my life was grandpa but then he upped and died while on vacation in Vietnam. 

On a better note, I bought a new toy :) Super excited for it to come in!

I am done with this semester's clinicals!!! No more waking at 5am and writing 20+ page care plans haha.  I'd like to talk about my last day of clinical though since it was a new experience to me.  Our group gets to do rotations in the OR and so I got a chance yesterday to sit in on one and watch them use the Da Vinci which is basically a robot they operate for minimal invasive surgeries.  I would never have thought I'd get the chance to experience something like this and I was in there for about five hours watching the surgeons and nurses do their job.  Once the surgery was done I left and wandered around on the floor looking in on other surgeries that were going on.  My group mate got to sit in on a open surgery which I would've preferred cause I like all the gross anatomy and looking at the underlying muscles and bone fascinates me.

My kindle paperwhite came in! It ordered it a month ago and it was on backorder, but not no more.  I had an internal debate whether I should buy it or not because I'm all for paper books and I feel that with technology and everything the way it is books will become obsolete one day...I hope it never comes to that. After two months of looking at it the bf got fed up with it and just bought it saving himself another six months of me asking 'is it worth it?' haha.  I feel like I betrayed my beloved paper books and I will still continue to buy books, but if I'm traveling anywhere having a kindle is convenient.  Plus I can read all the smutty books without anyone knowing the better..

Honestly, I'm not one to splurge on new gadgets and I don't think I've purchased anything remotely technological besides my old blackberry.  My labtop was a birthday present and the iphone was also given to me...my sister says I'm spoiled haha.  I mean I liked my first labtop a lot even though I had to angle the wire to get it to turn on and it would whir away like it had asthma and my blackberry was great! I loved typing notes cause of the clackclack sound the keyboard made. 
Now that I think about it I didn't even buy the kindle so I guess that's also given to me..

First book I bought was Pride and Prejudice :) I love how the first sentence goes "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."

The labtop got fixed by the mister. He's such a sweetheart. Only five more weeks til the end of the semester and I'm definitely counting down the days.  Finals and HESI exit exams are about to begin so I gotta step it up and make a A in at least one of these damn classes.

Planning a trip to Denver next month.  I absolutely abhor the cold so why Denver? Because I want to try snowboarding and to actually see snow.  I don't think I ever got to build an actual snowman.  For now I prefer the bipolar weather Texas gives us.
